 7月25日讯 在接受杨毅专访时，李凯尔表示只用了一周就决定加入中国国籍，将为中国男篮出战。 李凯尔还在微博上两度转发上文提及的微博，并写道： Easy Decision, It's my faith to represent m family and heritage.简单和正确的决定，能够代表我的家族为国征战，我感到无比光荣和自豪。
李凯尔微博写道：“代表中国国家队出战是一件很酷的事情，家人一定会为我的选择而感到骄傲和自豪。”
